We are a small family farm in the rolling hills of southern Indiana. My wife Lezlie and I along with our 5 children are the fourth generation to farm this land but the first to adopt the regenerative practices of healing the land and working in sync with nature instead of against it. I served 4 years as an Air Force EOD technician and after getting out we came home and took over my grandfathers farm and began the journey of raising grass fed beef and very shortly after added pasture raised pork. We as a family have always found a way to raise our own food the way we wanted it to be. While serving in the Air Force we lived in the middle of town and owned less that 1/2 acre of land but still managed to raise over 40 chickens (meat and egg laying) along with 20 ducks in our little backyard. We believe there's something special about truly knowing where your food comes from and not just having a half hearted guess.
Right away we saw the need to sell directly to the consumer instead of to the broken commodity market. Today we are on a mission to raise the highest quality, most transparent pastured meats you can find. We think the entire system that produces our nations food is misguided and needs reworked. The best option we found around that is to raise meat for our customers the way we would want our own meat raised. There is nothing raised on our farm that we don't also eat and in our minds that's about as honestly raised as meat can get.
